Hmmm...

Don't have much to say tonight, but I don't want to go to bed yet either. I finally finished reading Twilight, which I must say is a pretty good book. So after I read the book, naturally I watched the movie.... I was sorely disappointed in the movie. It skipped parts and had things all mixed up and left Mike confused. I had to explain a few things to him. Granted I know they can't fit everything from the book into the movie, but they should at least try to keep it in order, right?? I'm not sure if I want to see the sequal that comes out in November or not. And if I do should I watch it first then read the book so I'm not too disappointed?? Hmmm.... decisions, decisions.

Baby Contest

I'm sad to announce Kodiak did not win his contest. :( The first place winner was pretty cute, but the second and third place winner (in my opinion) were not all that cute. Kodiak could have, and should have, taken them out easy. Oh well. Off to round two with Kalsin! Same rules, vote once or twice everyday for a month (if you can). If you'd like to know the secret to voting more than twice give me a call! Hehehe. Kalsin's picture is the 17th one down. It's the same picture that is just to the right. Here's the link again

Vote for Kodiak

For those of you who read my blog more than emails, or didn't receive an email or text or anything. I've entered Kodiak in a baby contest in our city paper. Please try and vote for him everyday (if possible). Here is the link to the website and the picture you'll be voting on. Thank you!

Father's Day Fun

Yesterday we went to the Zoo with Grandpa Asay for Father's Day. The boys had alot of fun half showing and half dragging Grandpa around to look at all the animals. They got to see bears, giraffes, zebras and elephants. But their favorite animals were the monkey's by far! Probably because they are monkey's! We only had one injury at the zoo with Kalsin trying to jump out of the stroller. (Yes I said Kalsin, not Kodiak). He got a little bump on his head and a scratch on his wrist, but he was just fine as soon as we saw the snakes. And we managed to time it just right before the rain came.

Update... Again

I know I said I'd try to be better at keeping this updated but my day changes in the blink of an eye. Everyday in what little spare time I have, I have to try and decide what I'm going to do or what needs to be done. I either clean my house (laundry, dishes, scrub toilets, etc.), do yard work, pay bills (one that I don't like to do but have to), read, catch up on recorded shows, or play on the computer. It's a tough choice everyday and lately I don't have any spare time to get to choose. Oh well. Anyways, updates.... Kodiak took yet another fall and hit his head on the entertainment center and got a cut behind his ear. He was lucky again and didn't need stitches. I swear he's going to have brain damage with how many times he hits his head. Kalsin has a cold and threw up as soon as we walked into Sam's Club the other day. That was pretty adventurous trying to find somewhere to put the puke I'd collected in my hands. He also gave his cold to Kodiak. Yay two sick kids! Nothing else is new. I haven't done anything fun and exciting and Mike just got done putting in a new engine for one of his bosses daughter, but that's not really exciting. That's it for now. Maybe I'll write sooner than 2 months!

Kodiak and his death wish

Once upon a time there lived a little boy named Kodiak. He was a cute little boy who liked to laugh, get into mischief, and scare the crap out of his parents. He had had several close calls like falling over the banister and landing at the bottom of the stairs, falling of a stool onto a slate floor, etc, etc. He never got hurt too bad just a few bumps and bruises.
One day Kodiak, his brother Kalsin, and his father Michael were outside playing in the dirt in the backyard. His mom had just left to go to a baby shower. After she left, Kodiak decided he needed to escape from the backyard and run down the street to find some cars. One of the neighbors saw him and yelled " Grab that little boy!", just as car tires were screeching and horns were honking. Michael was running down the street with little Kalsin following at his heels, trying to get to Kodiak. Now Kodiak, unfazed, smiling and happy and safe (thanks to the neighbor) had once again managed to escape the fate of death and scare the crap out his parents.
The End

Update

I know I said before I would keep this updated but we've been a little busy in the Washburn household. We have been painting and trying to get all of our other little house projects done, like putting baseboards up, patching holes in the walls, cleaning up the backyard, and one of these days we'll start working on finishing the basement. Hopefully we can get it fixed up enough to sale. I've also started potty training, again! I think Kalsin will be the easiest to train. He seems more interested and willing to cooperate with it. Kodiak on the other hand is a little stubborn. He'll get mad if you take him away from whatever he was doing and especially if you take his cars away. I'll just have to have a little more patience with him. People have told me to put Cheerios in the toilet and have them try to pee on them, but I don't see that working too well for me seeing as how they love Cheerios and Kalsin has no problem drinking toilet water! I'm sure Kodiak wouldn't either if there are Cheerios involved. Silly boys!

Ah, the terrible two's

If only I knew how little children thought when they are two, I might be able to understand why they're so terrible. If anybody has a guide on how to survive the "terrible two's" for twins, I LOVE to get a copy! The boys haven't been too bad, but they definitely have their moments. They'll cry at the drop of a hat and be happy 5 minutes later. They want to be held, but they don't want you to touch them. They don't want to eat, but they're hungry. Mom isn't good enough to snuggle with in the morning (only uncle Dehson will do), but it's ok at night. That's probably only the half of it. So if anybody else knows how to stay sane during all this, please, please, please let me know.

Be sure to scroll all the way down to see all the new pictures!
The boys' birthday party was an exciting event. Once again we had a huge turnout, so next year we're going to need a bigger house. They got alot of fun toys that they rotate playing with everyday. And a few toys that they've aleady broken or working on breaking. Grandma Washburn (Edna) gave them a ton of Curious George items that they love! We read Curious George books every night while they cuddle with their Curious George dolls. (Pictures coming soon.) Grandpa Asay gave them a race track that came with little motorized cars that seemed to attract all the kids. The little cars really helped out at the Dr.'s office too.

Boys Birthday Party

Here's how much fun we have playing in the snow! Maybe next year mom and dad will spring for a sled! Or at least something better than sticks.

Quick family update

I know I haven't been writing much so here's a quick family update. Not much is going on. Same old, same old. Now that everyone has been updated watch for some new changes on my blog over the next week or so. I'm going to try and change it a bit, put some new pictures on and hopefully have a new post about the boys birthday.
