August??!! What a slacker I am! So I've been reading this Potty Training manual and I'm feeling kind of like a loser mother. Not only have I been slacking on writing a blog, but according to this manual I should have really stuck to potty training the boys earlier than now. I'm not sure what to do. If I start training them now, is it just going to mess them up when we move in the next couple months? And be training pretty much wasted? Should I wait until after the move? Or will that make it even harder than it is going to be now? I wish I knew what to do. And I really hope all of that made sense and doesn't sound like just some ramblings of a crazy person.Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-85915236231627036122009-08-10T20:50:00.000-07:002009-08-10T20:57:45.276-07:00Hmmm...Don't have much to say tonight, but I don't want to go to bed yet either. I finally finished reading Twilight, which I must say is a pretty good book. So after I read the book, naturally I watched the movie.... I was sorely disappointed in the movie. It skipped parts and had things all mixed up and left Mike confused. I had to explain a few things to him. Granted I know they can't fit everything from the book into the movie, but they should at least try to keep it in order, right?? I'm not sure if I want to see the sequal that comes out in November or not. And if I do should I watch it first then read the book so I'm not too disappointed?? Hmmm.... decisions, decisions.Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-1664012061162624552009-08-03T10:29:00.000-07:002009-08-03T10:40:25.664-07:00Baby ContestI'm sad to announce Kodiak did not win his contest. :( The first place winner was pretty cute, but the second and third place winner (in my opinion) were not all that cute. Kodiak could have, and should have, taken them out easy. Oh well. Off to round two with Kalsin! Same rules, vote once or twice everyday for a month (if you can). If you'd like to know the secret to voting more than twice give me a call! Hehehe. Kalsin's picture is the 17th one down. It's the same picture that is just to the right. AgainI know I said I'd try to be better at keeping this updated but my day changes in the blink of an eye. Everyday in what little spare time I have, I have to try and decide what I'm going to do or what needs to be done. I either clean my house (laundry, dishes, scrub toilets, etc.), do yard work, pay bills (one that I don't like to do but have to), read, catch up on recorded shows, or play on the computer. It's a tough choice everyday and lately I don't have any spare time to get to choose. Oh well. Anyways, updates.... Kodiak took yet another fall and hit his head on the entertainment center and got a cut behind his ear. He was lucky again and didn't need stitches. I swear he's going to have brain damage with how many times he hits his head. Kalsin has a cold and threw up as soon as we walked into Sam's Club the other day. That was pretty adventurous trying to find somewhere to put the puke I'd collected in my hands. He also gave his cold to Kodiak. Yay two sick kids! Nothing else is new. I haven't done anything fun and exciting and Mike just got done putting in a new engine for one of his bosses daughter, but that's not really exciting. That's it for now. Maybe I'll write sooner than 2 months!Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-49845937418617200572009-04-18T20:26:00.000-07:002009-04-18T20:46:05.681-07:00Kodiak and his death wishOnce upon a time there lived a little boy named Kodiak. He was a cute little boy who liked to laugh, get into mischief, and scare the crap out of his parents. He had had several close calls like falling over the banister and landing at the bottom of the stairs, falling of a stool onto a slate floor, etc, etc. He never got hurt too bad just a few bumps and bruises.
One day Kodiak, his brother Kalsin, and his father Michael were outside playing in the dirt in the backyard. His mom had just left to go to a baby shower. After she left, Kodiak decided he needed to escape from the backyard and run down the street to find some cars. One of the neighbors saw him and yelled " Grab that little boy!", just as car tires were screeching and horns were honking. Michael was running down the street with little Kalsin following at his heels, trying to get to Kodiak. Now Kodiak, unfazed, smiling and happy and safe (thanks to the neighbor) had once again managed to escape the fate of death and scare the crap out his parents.
The EndWashburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-48201534284562950562009-04-02T15:53:00.000-07:002009-04-02T16:09:28.239-07:00UpdateI know I said before I would keep this updated but we've been a little busy in the Washburn household. We have been painting and trying to get all of our other little house projects done, like putting baseboards up, patching holes in the walls, cleaning up the backyard, and one of these days we'll start working on finishing the basement. Hopefully we can get it fixed up enough to sale. I've also started potty training, again! I think Kalsin will be the easiest to train. He seems more interested and willing to cooperate with it. Kodiak on the other hand is a little stubborn. He'll get mad if you take him away from whatever he was doing and especially if you take his cars away. I'll just have to have a little more patience with him. People have told me to put Cheerios in the toilet and have them try to pee on them, but I don't see that working too well for me seeing as how they love Cheerios and Kalsin has no problem drinking toilet water! I'm sure Kodiak wouldn't either if there are Cheerios involved. Silly boys!Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-64565963461208300152009-02-12T22:24:00.000-08:002009-02-12T22:37:22.967-08:00Ah, the terrible two'sIf only I knew how little children thought when they are two, I might be able to understand why they're so terrible. If anybody has a guide on how to survive the "terrible two's" for twins, I LOVE to get a copy! The boys haven't been too bad, but they definitely have their moments. They'll cry at the drop of a hat and be happy 5 minutes later. They want to be held, but they don't want you to touch them. They don't want to eat, but they're hungry. Mom isn't good enough to snuggle with in the morning (only uncle Dehson will do), but it's ok at night. That's probably only the half of it. So if anybody else knows how to stay sane during all this, please, please, please let me know.Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-19658920867660289882009-01-26T16:52:00.001-08:002009-01-26T16:54:30.719-08:00Be sure to scroll all the way down to see all the new pictures!Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-54530020825674331912009-01-26T15:52:00.000-08:002009-01-26T16:08:59.443-08:00The boys' birthday party was an exciting event. Once again we had a huge turnout, so next year we're going to need a bigger house. They got alot of fun toys that they rotate playing with everyday. And a few toys that they've aleady broken or working on breaking. Grandma Washburn (Edna) gave them a ton of Curious George items that they love! We read Curious George books every night while they cuddle with their Curious George dolls. (Pictures coming soon.) Grandpa Asay gave them a race track that came with little motorized cars that seemed to attract all the kids. The little cars really helped out at the Dr.'s office too.Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-5593920665373774742009-01-26T15:51:00.001-08:002009-01-26T15:51:28.175-08:00Boys Birthday Party

Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-49321224650158006392009-01-26T15:15:00.002-08:002009-01-26T15:17:39.738-08:00Here's how much fun we have playing in the snow! Not much is going on. Same old, same old. Now that everyone has been updated watch for some new changes on my blog over the next week or so. I'm going to try and change it a bit, put some new pictures on and hopefully have a new post about the boys birthday.Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-71396486034620632322008-12-12T21:42:00.000-08:002008-12-12T21:53:27.437-08:00I survived! So I finally gained my strength back to let you all know how my "black friday" shopping went. I got to Walmart about 2am and found the line I needed to stand in and waited. I made a few friends while in line there, and I'm surprised they could hear me because I had started to lose my voice. My dad met me there at about 3am and went and stood in a different line for me. Everything was pretty mellow for a couple of hours, but when 5 o'clock hit, you knew! It was like a swarm of bats had come swooping in! From there on out it was pure chaos! I was clear in the back of the store and couldn't really tell how many people were in the store. And I don't know why but it really shocked me to see all the people as I was leaving. All I could think was ' Man these people are nuts!' and I was one of them!Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-2364771850754948412008-11-27T22:33:00.000-08:002008-11-28T22:10:55.382-08:00What am I thinking!!!So here it is 11:30 at night on thanksgiving and I'm staying awake ALL night so I can participate in this black friday event. Am I crazy?? Definitely!! Will I regret it? I hope not! I guess we'll find out if it was really worth it. My job is still going pretty good except they took away our employee discounts, so sorry Katy and Cindy. I don't get anything cheaper than anyone else now. *sigh* Mike seems to be handling the boys ok for right now, but he still has two hands also. We'll see how it goes with only one hand! It also looks like he may still be able to work after his surgery teaching a training class so hopefully that works out. Well I have to go find some energy so I can fight off all the other crazy people in a few hours. I'll post how it all goes after I regain my strength.Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-67743841317111657182008-11-19T23:12:00.000-08:002008-11-19T23:33:54.562-08:00Working girlFor those of you who didn't know I now have a job at Mervyn's. I needed to find something so we could survive while Mike is off work for a month. He'll be having surgery for a cist on his wrist. Anyways, it gives me a break from the kids for a little bit so maybe I can regain some of my sanity. It's fun so far. I'm doing a little bit of everything right now, but I think they mainly want me in customer service. It's been a lot like Albertson's just without the groceries. And Albertson's wasn't going out of business! Lol! I think that about it on what's been going on in our lives for the past month. I'll do my best to keep this updated.Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-41573618255351929212008-11-18T22:07:00.000-08:002008-11-18T22:18:57.117-08:00HalloweenI know, I know... I'm almost a holiday late with these! I'm trying to play catch up. So halloween was pretty fun. I don't think the boys were quite sure on what the heck was going on, but maybe next year we'll take them around to trick- or- treat and they'll understand. A little! They weren't quite sure what to think about the pumpkin guts at first. And even after a while they still didn't want to touch them, but they had fun scooping up the seeds and putting them back in the pumpkin after i had scooped them out!Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-36156224929236228032008-11-18T22:02:00.001-08:002008-11-18T22:02:49.421-08:00Halloween

Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-87674969604345460682008-10-21T22:48:00.000-07:002008-10-21T22:55:05.494-07:00The reasoning behind the cribsI think I figured out why we have two cribs. It's to make mom look like an idiot and look like she doesn't know what she's talking about! So naturally after I posted the last blog I went in to check on the boys like I always do only this time they were both in Kodiak's crib. They just had to prove to me that they use both cribs I guess. I can't wait to see what I find tonight!Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-88273365564199466242008-10-20T21:35:00.000-07:002008-10-21T22:48:31.657-07:00Why do we have two cribs again???I've been trying to figure out why we still have both the cribs up lately. When we put the boys to bed at night we put them in their own crib, kiss them goodnight, shut the light off and close the door. But every time I go in to check on them now they are always in Kalsin's crib! Apparently it's the most comfortable out of the two! I'm not exactly sure what to think about those two. They fight ALL day long (pushing, hitting each other, stealing the others toy) but at night you would think that they are the best of friends by sleeping in the same bed and sometimes cuddling up with each other. I don't get it! So again I ask... Why do we have two cribs again???Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-26524471475019724262008-10-12T14:54:00.001-07:002008-10-12T14:54:47.855-07:002 worlds 2 voices

Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334596024153680348.post-17521572477745027942008-10-11T14:26:00.000-07:002008-10-11T14:46:31.752-07:00Finally some mommy time! (literally)Last night my mom and I attended the Reba & Kelly concert. It was so much fun! I got to have a night away from the boys, spend time with my mom AND hear two wonderful singers! It was pretty different from other concerts I've been to. They were both on the stage the entire time, singing together, instead of switching back and forth. Our seats weren't all that great but we were able to move down about half way through the show to much better seats.Washburn Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01698951518752795619noreply@blogger.com3
